89-A Express Installation Hardware (design 1)

89-A Express Installation Hardware (design 1)

This is a set of reproduction hardware used to install an 89-A express body to the AA frame. This set is for design 3 express bodies (i.e. express with a short front panel) and was used from mid 1929 through production end. See 89-A Express Designs.

The six pair of floor tie straps (4 long, 4 medium, 2 short inside, 2 short outside) are cast steel. The bars (4 long and 2 short) are cast steel. The “L” body brackets are cast steel. All of these parts are excellent reproductions. This set of mounting hardware required the use of either wood or rivet-on frame spacers. See 89-A Express Installation Hardware Galleries.

FYI – This set of installation hardware will work for the 89-A express body produced after early 1929 but the floor tie strap design does not allow for the used of the sleeve style frame spacers used starting mid-1929.

A-17737 d1 Mirror Bracket Assembly

A-17737 d1 Mirror Bracket Assembly

This reproduction bracket is for the 82-A closed cab. It was used from the start of production thru February 1928 (maybe March 1928 also) and installed on the left side of the cab. If your cab is designed for the installation of  the mirror bracket on the hinge pillar and the installation holes are 1-1/2″ center-on-center, then this is the bracket to use. Note that the hinge pillar holes originally had a threaded tapping block (i.e. nut bar) tack welded to the inside of the pillar (see photo below). The tapping block is not included with the bracket. It is not uncommon that the tapping block is missing and would require it to be made/installed. Two 1/4-20 hex head bolts and lock washers were used to install this bracket. This bracket is for mounting the A-17727 mirror assembly.

Brackets are cast in silicon bronze. They come with the brass swivel ball stud installed and installation holes are machined.

A-17737 d2 Mirror Bracket Assembly

A-17737 d2 Mirror Bracket Assembly

This reproduction bracket is for the 82-A closed cab. It was used from March 1928 thru early 1929 and was installed on the left side of the cab. The common installation location for this bracket is at the sun visor. If your cab has no bracket installation holes on the hinge pillar, then this is the correct bracket for installation at the sun visor. Sometimes this bracket was installed on the hinge pillar. If your cab has bracket installation holes with 2-1/8″ center-on-center spacing, then this is the bracket to use. Note that the hinge pillar holes originally had a threaded tapping block (i.e. nut bar) tack welded to the inside of the pillar. The tapping bock is not included with the bracket. It is not uncommon that the tapping block is missing and would require it to be made/installed. Two 1/4-20 oval head screw (nickel plated) were used to install the bracket at either the sun visor or on the hinge pillar. This bracket is for mounting the A-17727 mirror assembly. It can also be installed on the right side at the sun visor to give a right side mirror.

This bracket is not for those 82-A cabs fit with 5/16-24 D-nuts on the hinge pillar with  2” center-on-center spacing. These cabs would have had mirror bracket A-17741 or AA-17745 installed.

Brackets are cast in silicon bronze. They come with the brass swivel ball stud installed and installation holes machined.
